Curaleaf’s Data Analyst performs various advanced analytics, statistical analyses, and data visualization, including report building to drive data driven insights to improve business performance cross product commercialization. The specific tasks will vary depending on the project. This position is a critical connection between the Analytics team and Commercialization, the central hub developing and launching products that position Curaleaf at the forefront of innovation.
Responsibilities:
Interprets and analyzes data using exploratory mathematic and statistical techniques based on the scientific method to optimize regional business and marketing performance
Investigates and analyzes structured, unstructured data, and streaming data to solve simple to mid-complexity business questions
Analyzes internal and external market research data to inform and analyze Commercialization efforts to balance near term GTM and long-term product road map visions
Summarizes insights from analysis, clearly communicate analytical findings in a cohesive story, and articulate key decision factors and recommendations for presentations to regional leadership
Utilizes predictive modeling to increase and optimize revenue generation, assortment planning, and other business outcomes
Collaborates with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes; create data visualization and audience appropriate documentation of findings and approach
Performs processing, cleansing, preprocessing and verifying the integrity of imperfect data used for analysis; able to identify various data structures and standardize methods in data transformations
Actively participates in internal peer review process to validate assumptions, technical approach, and to inform the evolution of the organization’s analytical tools, processes, and operating model
Aligns with national, regional, and state level leadership around business and marketing KPIs, to create win-win opportunities in innovation and profit
Partners with Information Technology to build appropriate change control and monitoring processes for analytical product and/or application programming interfaces
Qualifications:
Experience: At least five (5) years hands-on experience in analytics, data science, or management consulting with a proven track record as a data analyst in statistical analysis, quantitative analytics, and predictive analytics
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, economics, engineering, operations research or another related technical field or similar demonstrated experience
Other knowledge, skills, or abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to clearly articulate insights to leadership and relevant stakeholders
Intellectual curiosity with strong creative and imaginative prowess to generate ideas to solve business problems
Strong critical thinking abilities to draw sound conclusions from information and various data sources at their disposal
Capacity to analyze data objectively, applying logical thought and offering solutions
Applies creativity in developing analytic solutions based on available data sources, and in representing findings in reports, tools, and other media to support effective communication to business partners
Fluency in business and marketing analytics and related marketing and business intelligence tools
Strong statistical analysis, quantitative analytics, forecasting, and predictive analytics
Decision making involves some level of uncertainty, so it is important that applicants are comfortable with ambiguity
Proven experience in programming languages such as SQL, Python, and R
Advanced Excel skills (VBA preferred) and experienced in PowerPoint for presentation purposes
Knowledge of manufacturing/food/beverage industry products/services and operations
