JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Production Designer, Packaging will be involved in bringing to life the essence of the Cresco family of brands (existing and new) across various packaging products and forms. This role requires a keen eye for the tiniest of details as it is responsible for extending branded packaging creative in all states we are currently in and those to come. The Senior Production Designer will use their design eye for placing images, text, logos, and copy within the dielines, crops, etc. to make each packaging layout aesthetically pleasing, state compliant, in line with the brand and the overall creative and will execute print ready production files. At times, this role will also be asked to use their design thinking ability to create new packaging creative for additional offerings (different flavor, seasons, LTOs, etc.) within any of our brands.
CORE JOB DUTIES:
Cascade packaging creative out to various sku’s, states, versions
Execute all creative through production/print ready files per required dieline and vendor specifications and work with vendors, as needed.
Ensure the adherence to brand standards in all produced work
Review vendor proofs, print tests, prototypes and final print runs against released files for accuracy, provide feedback and direction
Design new packaging creative for various spinoff products
Create 3D packaging renderings of final packaging suitable to be used in various marketing materials and digital assets
Training and mentoring of other design team members, as needed
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SKILLS
Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related design education
5+ years in packaging production design
Strong portfolio demonstrating experience in print package design and production
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat)
3D packaging rendering experience using Blender 3D, preferred
Solid press ready file preparation and knowledge of production and prepress systems
Confident problem solver - able to troubleshoot, rebuild files with minimal guidance
Must be able to manage multiple ongoing projects at once within a fast-paced, deadline driven environment all while maintaining accuracy of execution
Comfortable and productive in a remote work environment
Communicates effectively with internal stakeholders and external business partners
Have an eye for design aesthetic and comfortable editing and making suggestions to the look and feel of projects
Comfortable in a cross functional role and able to effectively work together and collaborate as a team
Excellent attention to detail
Proactive thinker and problem solver
