This position is responsible for the effective cleaning and sanitizing of all areas within the facility to meet HACCP program standards including cultivation equipment, packaging machines, and storage areas in the facility. The Sanitation Technician is also responsible for performing the Industrial Custodian essential functions when needed.
Disassemble, clean, reassemble and sanitize all equipment and clean production areas with the use of pressure sprayers and foaming equipment.
Establishes and maintains adequate records to track chemical Inventory and sanitation supplies.
Use sanitation and cleaning equipment to complete other job functions including pressure sprayers, vacuums, ladders, floor scrubbers, etc.
Measure, weigh, and mix industrial strength cleaners and chemicals, using measuring tanks, and other calibration devices.
Notify the Plant Sanitarian and/or Maintenance Personnel of any mechanical malfunctions or subsequent problems beyond regular operator troubleshooting capabilities.
Oversee trash compactor / trash removal and recycling materials from the facility.
Know and demonstrate proper Clean In Place (CIP) and Clean Out of Place (COP) procedures.
Complete all Quality and Sanitation paperwork required of the position.
Perform pre-operational inspections and communicate findings to the Plant Sanitarian.
Perform and interpret environmental swab reports and communicate and implement corrective actions.
Assist in the training of new hires on proper SSOPs, GMPs, PPE requirements, and other Quality and/or Sanitation policies/procedures under direction of the Plant Sanitarian.
Operates powered industrial trucks to facilitate the completion of other essential job functions.
Perform the Industrial Custodian essential functions when needed.
Expected to adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect product safety, product quality or personnel safety.
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management.
May make decisions and perform the job responsibilities of the [Job Title] in their absence.

High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred Experience & Skills:
Prior Industrial Sanitation experience and/or experience in regulated industries, i.e. healthcare, medical devices, pharmaceutical, or consumer packaged goods is highly desired.
Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 75 lbs. (150 lbs. with assistance) with extreme care and caution when working with plants and product.
Ability to meet physical demands including reaching, climbing, bending, walking, standing, and performing repetitive work.
Comfortable working in conditions that include height, heat, and high intensity lighting.
Basic mechanical skills with the ability to disassemble and reassemble processing equipment
Ability to learn Confined Space Entry and Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) procedures.
Work with chemicals and sanitizers and adhere to Chemical Safety Training § Must have a solid understanding of the Cannabis laws, rules and regulations and passion to further their understanding and knowledge of the industry and the laws.
Must pass all required background checks.
Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the cannabis industry.
Must possess valid driver’s license.
Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
Must be approved by state badging agency to work in cannabis industry.
