Production Supervisor - Beverage

The Role:
The Beverage Production Supervisor will be responsible for managing, planning, directing, organizing, coordinating, and leading the Beverage Team’s activities for the facility. This Supervisor will lead the team and will ensure quality, compliance, and consistency of service delivery, and will focus on higher level planning, forecasting, and general business activities of this group. The Beverage Supervisor will report to the Assistant General Manager.
Supervisory Responsibility:
Supervision of the Beverage operations and staff.
Essential Functions:
Manage, supervise, and direct the activities of the Beverage team; make recommendations regarding hiring, discipline, termination, or advancement of employees in department
Manage the Beverage process including machinery, equipment and systems including steam, CO2, ammonia and glycol refrigeration, dehumidification, compressed air, quality, and other requisite technical knowledge.
Develop and ensure SOPs are being followed for all Beverage activities
Lead and support of the Beverage team, identify gaps and weaknesses and allocate resources accordingly
Keep detailed Beverage records and submit reports weekly, monthly, quarterly, or as needed
Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with Assistant General Manager and Leads
Work collaboratively with Assistant General Manager on processes and schedules for accurate inventory and quality management.
Assist Team Leads with conflict resolution within the department and address team member concerns and questions
Monitor employee progress; guide, train and develop employees in the accomplishment of their duties and goals through professional growth; write, conduct, and oversee individual performance reviews/evaluations of department employees
Hold employees accountable for performance; identify poor performance or behavior and coach employee
Lead weekly team meetings and participate in daily manager meetings
Coordinate with Assistant General Manager to ensure staffing needs are met based on the harvest and breakdown schedules as well as in forecasting future labor needs
Work with operations management to establish and manage current and long-range objectives, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), strategic plans and procedures
Direct and promote employee safety through Company safety program and create a culture of safety and teamwork in the Beverage department and throughout the facility
Ensure all Beverage tools and machinery are in working order and coordinate with the maintenance department to troubleshoot/fix any mechanical issues
Provide regular feedback and support to leads and team members in all Beverage related activities
Collaborate with the Quality/Compliance department to ensure all aspects of quality & compliance are maintained, including records and documentation, and improved on as required
Identify concepts and plans for cost and productivity improvements
Manage PTO (paid time off) requests and approvals of the staff; Ensure employees understand and abide by PTO and Attendance policy
Collaborate with Supply Chain to ensure timely delivery of ingredients and packaging materials. Ensure proper logging and storage of all materials.
Recommend and implement efficiency improvements in the Beverage department.
Transfer R&D initiatives to scaled manufacturing processes.
Responsible for development and implementation of SOPs, methods, and policies to advance the facility and ensure it meets the needs of GTI.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business required; industrial engineering preferred. A strong industrial beverage background is preferred.
3+ years of supervisory leadership experience working in a manufacturing, beverage, beverage alcohol facilities or related industry required
Experience in managing employee concerns and resolution
Proven success in leading multidisciplinary teams to the highest quality work
Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt; maintain focus and a high degree of accuracy while working with different groups, changing deadlines, priorities, and requirements
Experience working in a highly regulated space is preferred
Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative, and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgement, common sense, and resourcefulness
Adapts and thrives in a demanding, start-up, fast paced environment
Superior communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, non-verbal, written), with the ability to build relationships at all levels, both internally and externally
Additional Requirements:
Must pass any and all required background checks
Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
Must possess valid driver’s license
Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
Must be approved by state badging agency to work in cannabis industry
Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: May be required to stand, climb, bend, stoop, work at heights, and/or walk for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 75 pounds (300 pounds with assistance)
