Employee Relations Business Partner

In partnership with our HR teams and leadership across production, retail and shared services, the Employee Relations Business Partner will provide employee relations support, thought partnership and coaching to ensure we are creating an environment for employees that is fair, respectful, and consistent with our company values and objectives. The Employee Relations Business Partner will also help identify, create, and implement ER processes, programs, and tools to build organizational capability.
Consult and collaborate with HR and Legal teams on highly sensitive employee investigations including interviews, review of internal systems, composing investigation summaries and proposing action based on findings
Advise HR teams and leaders on employee misconduct, performance issues and policy violations
Provide support to HR teams and leaders as it pertains to policy interpretation
Perform analysis of casework trends and partner with manager to produce strategic, proactive recommendations to People team leadership and the business to address and mitigate systemic issues
Help design and implement training based on analysis and key ER themes to build Manager and HR capabilities
Partner with People team leadership on the creation and/or revision of people programs, policies and practices to sustain a positive work environment for GTI employees
Help balance risk, taking into account employee, business and company perspectives
Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related discipline with experience in Employee/Labor Relations
Advanced degree, such as a JD, or other specialized training in employee/labor relations is a plus
Minimum 5 years of previous experience in ER positions with increasing scope of influence
Demonstrated passion for employee relations, investigations and employment/labor law
Solid understanding of federal and state employment and labor laws
Experience in conducting investigative work
Strong communication skills including listening, writing and presentation
Demonstrated ability to influence others
Strong interpersonal skills, can effectively interface and collaborate with employees at all levels of the organization
Ability to travel 20-30% of the time to visit stores and manufacturing locations
Must pass any and all required background checks
Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
Must possess valid driver’s license
Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
Must be approved by state badging agency to work in cannabis industry
