Job Summary

An Allocation Analyst is responsible for ensuring the right amount of inventory is in the right place, at the right time; defining WOS targets, managing inventory builds for promotions, and managing the DC safety stock inventory.

An Allocation Analyst is responsible for analyzing the business at a brand/category/store level to understand the right amount of inventory to have at each store and in DC in balance with the capacity constraints. They would partner with Planning, Buying, Retail, and Product Vision to make sure inventory in stores reflects the demand of the business and that we have enough safety stock in DC to continue to drive what’s working while minimizing risk of expiring goods.

Partners with Buying and Planning to minimize inventory risks and maximize sales in stores

Manages and optimizes inventory flow to stores in partnership with Buying and Planning

Reviews inventory build needs for upcoming promotions

Closely partners with Logistics on managing allocation strategies

Synergizes with Stores to fine tune WOS targets based on demand and store capacity

Manages the national allocation of accessories in partnership w each state DM’s, Buying and Procurement.

Mines for opportunities to scale or minimize risk of categories and brands from an assortment planning view

Reviews weekly reorder needs in balance with the OTB and in partnership with Buying

Contributes to the weekly business review and quarterly hindsight presentations

Scrutinizes opportunities for continuous replenishment and margin building

Basic Qualifications


Has great verbal communications skills to lead high level conversations and synergize with all key cross functional teams

Is fluent in retail math, retail planning and forecasting to be able to deduce key actions from retail KPI’s

Strong Excel skills with formulas and pivots

Has great prioritization and organizational skills

Has strong teamwork skills to work with several cross functional partners


Preferred Qualifications 


Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

2-3 years of experience in Retail Merchandise Allocation, Planning or similar Analyst role.


Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities as of now, but possibly in the future

Working Conditions

This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 6 p.m.

This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

Travel Requirements

Occasional LA store reviews and travel 1-2x a year may be required outside of California.
