Directs the overall supply chain operations for the assigned states including purchasing inventory, vendor selection and distribution of finished goods.
Utilize sales forecasts, current inventory, promotional requirement, and marketing needs to create to create production schedules for all finished goods. Determines appropriate inventory required to meet distribution and sales needs for each business channel.
Periodically evaluates safety stock levels to ensure customer service levels and net working capital targets are met.
Responsible for inventory replenishment planning of the vaults/warehouses using the Kanban methodology.
Issues purchase orders for all bulk biomass/oil materials to vendors at appropriate lead times.
Communicates latest production forecast to Strategic Planning, Operations, Purchasing, etc.
Works with inbound logistics to ensure Customs clearance and timely receipt of raw materials for production and finished product.
Monitors levels of inventory and calculate inventory stock turns per month, for year-end as well as 13 month rolling for finished goods including periodic budget updates for all SKU’s.
Reports monthly to members of the S&OP process the current stock position and any periods of risk or concerns as well as the demand forecast accuracy on prior months sales.
Develop, track, and improve key performance metrics consistent with business objectives and develop long term capacity plans.
Interface with suppliers & procurement to improve quality and cost of materials.
Collaborate with the Accounting team on the quarterly audit of open PO’s against assigned materials and update accordingly.
Develop material costs forecasts or standard cost lists.
Monitor supplier performance to assess ability to meet quality and delivery.
Analyze inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste, or optimize customer service.
Maintaining and expanding the wholesale distribution in North America.
Develop strategies for new expansion opportunities.
Responsible for customer negotiation agreements.
Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or similar field
Minimum of 5-7 years of related experience in leading Production and/or Supply Chain organizations with preferred experience in participating in S&OP processes
Managing & prioritizing a high volume of work in fast paced environment
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
Experience in building what-if simulations for forecasting with ability to teach others
Strong proficiency with ERP Systems, emphasis on MRP systems, MS Dynamics (F&O) a plus
Knowledge of key inventory performance metrics and KPI’s
Ability to be agile and adaptable to changing priorities
Team player with the ability to gain consensus through collaboration and open dialogue
Attention to detail with ability to understand “big picture”
Experience with Lean, Agile and SCRUM methodology in a team setting
A sense of urgency, high energy, and hands-on approach
Start-up experience, a plus
