JOB SUMMARY

As Cresco Labs accelerates the development of its brand portfolio, the company is seeking a Director Operations Food & Beverage (F&B) to join our corporate Operations team in Chicago, IL. The Director Ops F&B will work across Cresco’s facilities, providing planning, organization, and processes of all F&B Operation Department functions. The Sr. Director Ops F&B will be responsible for new product / line extension integration into the manufacturing operations by partnering with R&D, MFG Automation Engineering, supply chain planning, construction, EHS, and quality.  This role will generate and share best practice related to F&B across Cresco. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success leading cross functional teams, success with implementing operational processes, and a working knowledge of GMPs, OSHA, HACCP, ISO and SQF in a very dynamic environment.

CORE JOB DUTIES


Responsible for the performance of manufacturing, material management, quality and EHS compliance, inventory control efficiencies- including overhead, packaging and ingredients, operational budget and profit and loss statements

Ensure the timely manufacture of quality products meeting regulatory and company requirements and standards, including evaluating new products to assure that they are feasible to manufacture

Review and develop plans for controlled outputs including budget spending, material efficiency, labor efficiency, engineering effectiveness

Lead efforts to drive continuous improvement in manufacturing, technology, quality and processes within F&B Operations

Develop and implement manufacturing strategy that ensure facilities meet or exceed goals

Develop plans, projects and forecasts for new markets and facilities

Review and report performance against operating plans and standards

Develop and recommend corporate policies and objectives within F&B Operations Department

Report and investigate on any manufacturing, quality and EHS incidents

Develop specific short-term and long-terms plans and projects

Coordinating with other departments within Cresco in establishing and carrying out responsibilities

Communicate F&B Operation projects and performance to Executive Leadership

Review and approve cost control reports, cost estimates, capacities and manpower and facilities requirement forecasts

Develop plans for new areas of technology for the manufacturing process

Execute to annual objectives for the F&B Operation department, ensuring that responsibilities, authority and accountability are defined and understood

Initiate the development of other F&B Operations employees and identifies any training needs

Maintain and communicate an adequate understanding of plant machinery, equipment, processing, blending, extractions, shelf-stable products, and quality control

Maintain a working knowledge on government and industry regulations and standards, ensuring each facility, process and product is compliant

Gather and analyze information skillfully to effectively manage projects and make accurate and effective decisions

Other duties as required to support the needs of the business


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SKILLS


5+ years operational management with a food supplier or CPG company

BS in Business Administration, Operations Management, Chemical / Mechanical Engineering preferred

Experience with SAP a plus

Experience in product engineering, manufacturing engineering, and operations at a life sciences GMP, FDA, and SQF regulated company

Knowledge of current GMPs, OSHA, HACCP, ISO and SQF

Experience with technical transfers, qualification, validation, troubleshooting, BLA’s, FDA inspections, process scale-up, and commercial operations support

Experience with material management, from planning through purchasing

Experience managerial skills with both principles and people

Experience with developing supply chain strategies and meetings to meet and exceed company strategy, performance objectives, and customer expectations

Experience leading teams across multiple sites utilizing best practices

Success with deploying commercial components into high-volume production with fast time-to market and cost-sensitivity requirements

Flexibility with processes and projects to foster the rigidity of management of a GMP facility compliantly while remaining flexible to the competing demands of our programs

Strong analytical, numerical and reasoning abilities with a solid understanding of financial data, measurements and planning

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Experience with analyzing and understanding production requirements, and achieving re

Ability to work and thrive in dynamic work environment
