Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or equivalent).
5-10 years’ experience in a food engineering role working on scaling of various food and beverage formulations.
Works collaboratively with formulation scientists to scale food and beverage formulations from bench-top to larger manufacturing settings while maintaining desired key product attributes.
Align with and lead operations to develop best practices and standards that are consistent across multiple manufacturing facilities.
Design and implement processes to ensure products are reproducible and meet key product attributes and quality requirements with working knowledge of the impact on plant operations.
Experience with scaled confections manufacturing and ability to understand processing implications and corrective actions surrounding confections setting and curing parameters.
Experience in current food processing techniques, GMP requirements, HAACP plans, and development of process flow diagrams, SOPs, and batch records for new processes.
Assist with planning and logistics surrounding pilot runs for new formulations and processes.
Ability to quickly research and implement new food processing techniques and manufacturing practices on various scales.
Working knowledge of scalability, manufacturing, and handling of various powdered formulations for use in tablets, mints, and other pressed confections.
Ability to identify and implement process improvements for existing products to increase throughput and efficiency.
Travel as needed (up to 50%) to conduct manufacturing trials, process commissioning, and support for existing manufacturing processes.
